Jury Convicts Jordan Martin in Kody Ray Murder

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- After several hours of deliberations, a Greene County jury has convicted Jordan Martin of 1st degree Murder in the death of Kody Ray.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- After several hours of deliberations, a Greene County jury has convicted Jordan Martin of 1st degree Murder in the death of Kody Ray.

Martin was charged in the 2010 shooting death of Kody Ray. The Hillcrest High School student who was shot and killed on the front porch of a home on W. Chicago.

Prosecutors say Martin stayed in the car while a second man, James C. Duke, pulled a gun on Kody, shooting him several times. 

Duke was convicted last August. He's currently in prison serving a sentencing of life without parole.

The jury returned its verdict shortly after 8 p.m. Friday after it began deliberating shortly before 4 p.m. following a week-long trial.

Sentencing is set for September 27, 2013, at 2:45 p.m.
