JOPLIN, Mo.-- Two Joplin fire crews will move into brand new and permanent facilities ahead of schedule and under budget.

Firefighters of Station Number 4 will move into their new facility Monday, Dec. 30.

The new $1.6 million station is located at the intersection of Hearnes Boulevard and 34th Street.

On the other side of town, firefighters with Station Number 2 have just moved into their new building at the corner of Schifferdecker and 13th Street.

The station came in $12,000 under budget at a price of $1.6 million.

Fire Chief Mitch Randles says it's gratifying to see the projects complete.

Both of the station crews have been working out of temporary facilities for two and half years.

The stations were destroyed in the May 22nd tornado.
