Hey there!  I'm Jennifer Kielman and I'm so excited to join the KOLR10/KOZL news team!  You can find me anchoring the 5, 6 & 10 newscasts alongside David Oliver.

I came to Springfield from Tyler, Texas. There, I worked at KETK News for a little more than 6 years as the 6 & 10 o'clock News Anchor.  My resume spans across the U.S, not just in Texas.  I have also worked at WVLA in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, WAOW in Wausau, Wisconsin and I interned at WTVO in Rockford, Illinois.

Although I have lived in Texas most my life, I'm actually from the Midwest. I was born in the small town of Freeport, Illinois.  I also earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Communications from Northern Illinois University. So, snow isn't foreign to me.  I do own a pair of snow boots.

In my 9 year career, I have distinguished myself by winning several Associated Press awards and four EMMAs from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for my Anchoring, reporting and producing.

I am also a 3-year Breast Cancer survivor!  I was diagnosed in 2010.  I was young, there was no family history, I ate healthfully and exercised regularly.  Cancer just happened. I underwent a lumpectomy, 6 months of chemotherapy and 30 days of daily radiation treatments.

And I'm proud to say,  I beat it without ever calling in sick to work.  It's one of my biggest accomplishments. I view my job as a journalist as a calling, and a way to share important, and sometimes life-saving, information with viewers.  I am an open book.  I believe sharing my story with you, will help save a life.

When I'm not working, I love spending time with my husband, Coleman, and our dog,  Lucy.  Chances are, you'll find us exploring the Ozarks and enjoying life as newlyweds on our days off.
