Chris Brown gets some good news after a court hearing. And a country singer's tour bus is involved in a fatal accident.
A chaotic scene outside a Washington D.C. courthouse Monday - after singer Chris Brown had a hearing over his weekend arrest.

But he got some good news - felony charges against him and his bodyguard have been reduced to simple assault misdemeanors.

The two men are accused of assaulting a man early Sunday outside a hotel - but Brown's attorney claims it was self-defense.

"We are confident that Mr. Brown will be exonerated of any wrongdoing," the attorney told reporters.

Brown could be put behind bars in California, if the arrest is deemed a violation of his probation over the Rihanna beating incident.

In other legal news -

After working out an agreement with prosecutors - a fight with an ex-girlfriend will not put 50 Cent behind bars.

This is the rapper at a court appearence in Los Angeles in August. The rapper was accused of kicking down a door and attacking Daphne Joy during an argument.

The 37-year-old - whose real name is Curtis Jackson - pleaded no contest to a single count of misdemeanor vandalism.

In exchange, prosecutors dropped a more serious domestic violence charge against him.

A tragedy involving country star Jason Aldean.

According to police, a man stepped in front of the singer's bus while it traveled down an Indiana roadway.

The victim was identified as Albert Kennedy.

Aldean's spokesperson says the singer was aboard the vehicle at the time.

Aldean addressed the situation on his Twitter feed - saying the man's death left him with; "a heavy heart".
