Hey Shannon! Relationship Question for October 23, 2013

"While my wife and I both believe in being totally honest with our son, I believe she tends to speak before she thinks. For example, we had to take our son to the doctor for a flu shot. Rather than just telling him we were going to the doctor and let the visit just kind of play out, she told him we were taking him to get a shot. Not only that, but, she told him the night before. That resulted in him crying for about an hour before he was able to fall asleep, plus, he was terribly anxious all day in fear of the doctor visit. Is there any way I can convince her to think about her timing or maybe learn to "shade" the truth to save our young son the trauma?"
