Hey Shannon! Relationship Question for November 15, 2013

"Hey Shannon, I am having issues with opening up to my boyfriend of 5 years. I was in a marriage for 14 years where I wasn’t allowed to have friends or talk out problems. I got used to dealing with problems on my own, and keeping my feelings hidden. I am trying to make the best of my current relationship because my boyfriend truly cares about me. He tells me he wants to be with me and help me better myself and my life. How can I be better at opening up and expressing my feelings?"
