Heavy Rain and Storm Chances in Ozarks Into Thursday

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A change in the weather is pushing into the Ozarks from the west, setting up chances for heavy rain and some storms starting today.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A change in the weather is pushing into the Ozarks from the west, setting up chances for heavy rain and some storms starting today.

Showers and thunderstorms will be ongoing across the area Tuesday morning. Some locally heavy rainfall will be possible generally along and north of Interstate 44.

South wind gusts to 30 mph will be possible across extreme southeastern Kansas and western Missouri on Wednesday.

Additional thunderstorms will then be possible Tuesday night into Thursday. A limited to elevated risk for strong to severe storms will occur on Wednesday primarily across western Missouri and
extreme southeastern Kansas. Any additional rainfall that falls on Wednesday over areas that received heavy rainfall on Tuesday may see some isolated flooding.
