Healthy Cooking Class Offered to Weller Students and Families

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - About 125 families, made up of Weller Elementary students and family members, are expected to participate in a health eating and cooking class today, Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m., according to Springfield Public Schools.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - About 125 families, made up of Weller Elementary students and family members, are expected to participate in a health eating and cooking class today, Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m., according to Springfield Public Schools.


The Weller Elementary is hosting a class called “You Don’t Have to be Wealthy to be Healthy,” where families will be educated on how to plan meals and eat healthy on a budget.


The class is offered through a partnership with Community Partnership, Springfield-Greene County Health Department and the Healthy Living Alliance.


The class is free and offered to Weller students and their family members.




When: 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6


Where: Weller Elementary School, 1630 N. Weller Ave.


Who: Weller students and their family members will be in attendance along with school staff and representatives from the collaborating organizations.
