SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Federal Radon Action Week is now underway.

Radon is a natural, invisible, odorless, radioactive gas. It is the leading cause of lung cancer for non-smokers, and it can be found in your home.

"[You can fix the issue by] using some silicone caulk in cracks, because that's where the gas will enter through, the basement slab or walls where the pipes go through the walls, says Brian Adams, air quality control coordinator for the City of Springfield.

You can also pick up a radon test kit online or at most home improvement stores.
