Harper Notches First Lady Bears Win

Kellie Harper gets first win as Missouri State's coach.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Lady Bear coach Kellie Harper celebrated her first victory as the Missouri State womens coach in unique fashion.

She took her staff to a Waffle House after Wednesday night's game.

It could have easily been a completely different story at JQH Arena.

The Lady Bears blew a 14 point halftime lead and found themselves trailing Arkansas Little Rock Trojans by six with just a few minutes left in the game.

But the play of Bry Snow late and Mikala McGhee in the closing moments saved the day and won the game.

"This team we have more fight," said Lady Bear guard Tyonna Snow.  "And it's coach Kellie's first year and we don't want to let her down.  And we want to come out here and do our best.  And the season that we had last year was not the season that we wanted.  So we don't want to go through that again.."

"We're going to have growth throughout the year.  And I'm really excited that we had some since Monday," said Lady Bears coach Kellie Harper.

"You always want show up and play harder, be better, stronger and faster the next game.  It's not just coming off a loss but everytime we step on the floor," said Lady Bears forward Bry Snow.
