Glendale Back At Soccer Final Four

Glendale will play Rockhurst in Missouri state soccer semifinals Friday.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The Missouri state high school soccer Final Four kicks off Friday in Blue Springs, MO.

And the Glendale Falcons are back in the semifinals.

The Falcons will take on Rockhurst at 6:00 p.m.

The team is hoping for a little bit of redemption against Rockhurst.

Back in 2008, the Hawklets shutout Glendale 3-0.

This year the Falcons are 17-8-1, Rockhurst is 20-8.

But the Falcons already pulled off one upset, ending nationally ranked Rock Bridge's season.

The Falcons have a nice combination of senior leadership and young talent.

"This has been a unique year cause it has just been a different group of kids in the respect that we've got a senior group of players that have really had to bring along a younger group of players," said Glendale coach Jeff Rogers.  "We've got the youngest group that I've coached in 23 years."

"All I know is they are very rich in their history," said Falcons stopper Derek Roberts.  "So we just got to come out and take care of business. That is all we are focused on. No matter how many scouting reports there are, how many players we know, you just got to play the game."
