KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Former teammates of an Ozarks man, killed in a rock slide in Colorado this week, are remembering him.

Paris Walkup, a wide receiver  from Birch Tree, Missouri,  played football for 4 years for the Avila College Eagles in Kansas City.
He graduated in May with a degree in nursing. More than a hundred former teammates and class mates gathered this week to remember Paris, who wore number 2.

"He's a kid you wish you had a hundred of him. One of those guys you hear that cliche but its the truth," says Justin Berna, Paris' football coach at Avila College.

Walkup was hiking with family in central Colorado when a rock slide with boulders the size of cars killed 5 family members and injured his thirteen year old cousin. Also killed was Paris' younger brother, Baigen.

Classmate Karli Lapointe says Paris died doing what he loved.   She graduated with Paris in the nursing program.
"He was always looking for the next adventure. He was so full of life- even though he was only 22 lived a full life."

Even though Paris graduated last year and wasn't on the field this fall, Berna says he'll be missed. "It's very difficult. Hopefully something we can take day by day and move on. Some of the older guys especially its difficult.  Sophomores,  juniors and seniors all knew who he was and very very good friends with Paris."
