SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- With all the togetherness of the holiday season, locals may want to think about flu prevention.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- With all the togetherness of the holiday season, locals may want to think about flu prevention.

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department noted an increase in flu cases -- a jump from 10 cases to 33.

Flu season's peak is typically in January and February, according to a news release, so a bigger increase could be looming.

Health officials said it's not too late to get a flu shot.

They also advise all residents to keep up with hand-washing, stay home when sick and cough into their elbows instead of hands.
