OZARK, Mo. -- Two firefighters with the Sparta fire district are recovering from injuries after the crash of their fire truck early Monday.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says J.N. Cloyd, 19, of Ozark and Jason Stephens, 29, of Sparta, were hurt when their truck ran off Highway JJ about 4 miles east of Ozark.
The two were onboard a Sparta Fire District fire truck.  Stephens was driving.

It happened just after midnight when the truck was headed to a structure fire. Troopers say the truck ran off the road, the driver over-corrected, and the the truck went off the opposite side of the road and into a ditch, before going through fences and hitting two trees.

Cloyd and Stephens were taken to a Springfield hospital with what are described as moderate injuries.
