SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The former wife of a murdered Springfield attorney has died.
Alberta Comstock passed away July 5 at a care center in Oklahoma, according to a published obituary. The 73-year-old was married to Rolland Comstock until 2005.
Rolland Comstock was a well known Springfield attorney found shot to death in his Greene County home in 2007.
Alberta Comstock was not charged criminally in the death but her daughter, Faith Stocker, sued her for the wrongful death of her father.
A jury sided with Stocker and awarded her $125,000, but a judge later threw out the jury's decision based on a technicality.
