The Evangel football team returns home Saturday.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- It's taken about a month for the Evangel Crusaders to play football here in Springfield but they'll finally be back at JFK this Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Crusaders didn't start the year until September 14th, a a loss at Kansas Wesleyan.

Then won at Avila last week.

Evangel finished 7-4 last year and had one of the best offenses in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

The Crusaders take on Mid-America Nazarene this Saturday night.

"We have great home fans," said cocah Brenton Illum. "Our guys play better at home than they play on the road traditionally and we're excited. Springfield is a great community. We have really exciting football and I'm hoping that more of the community will come out and watch us this time."

Andrew Brimhall: "It's exciting. We always have a good home crowd. We always get a lot of fans come out and support. The anticipation has been building for the fans and just for us to be able to play at home. So it's an exciting thing."
