SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Unions in Springfield are expecting big crowds at this year's Labor Day Parade and Picnic.

The annual parade kicks off at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2 at Hammons Parkway and Grand Ave. on the Missouri State University campus.

Floats will travel west on Grand Ave. to Campbell Ave., then head south to Fassnight Park for the picnic.

"There will be a car show, stuff for kids to do," says Chris Horton, Membership Development Coordinator at IBEW Local 453. "There will be bounce houses for kids and public speakers."

In addition to live music, you can pay a small donation for a brat, chips and a drink. Proceeds will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
