GREENE COUNTY, Mo. -- UPDATE: (3am Tuesday, Jan. 21)   The Greene County Sheriff's Department says they have several "persons of interest" in custody in connection with two home invasion robberies early Monday.

Greene County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating two early-morning home invasions in Southwest Springfield. According to a news statement, the suspects are still at large and considered armed and dangerous.

The first home invasion happened at the 3300 block of S. Clifton. According to the statement, the female homeowner woke up and discovered two men dressed in dark clothing in her kitchen. The men fled from her home.

Greene County Deputies responded and set up a perimeter in an attempt to locate the suspects with the assistance of GCSO K9. The homeowner provided a vehicle description.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspects used the victim’s debit cards at a nearby gas station and deputies were able to retrieve surveillance video.

Within a few hours, another home invasion occurred on S. Cottage. The intruders, armed with rifles, confronted one of the residents and demanded items from him. The suspects were once again described as wearing dark clothing and fled the scene.

Authorities are asking for help to identify the two men involved in these home invasions.

The suspect vehicle is described as a green or teal Ford Explorer with no license plates.

The investigation is on-going and it is unknown at this time if both home invasions are related or committed by the same suspects.
