Attorney General Chris Koster charged Sherri Grove, a licensed professional counselor, for billing Medicaid for family therapy services that she did not provide, according to a news release.

An investigation into the case revealed that Grove fraudulently billed Medicaid for more than 40 family therapy visits that did not occur during a six-month period in 2012, resulting in a $2,000 loss to the program.

Grove now faces eight class C felonies, punishable by up to seven years for each violation, plus penalties and restitution.
