A good looking weekend lies ahead, but the heat and storm chances rise next week.

We enjoyed another unseasonably cool summer day in the Ozarks with highs in the low 80s.  It was a mostly dry day, with a few showers in our northeastern zones.  An isolated shower or storm is possible tonight, mainly north and east of Springfield.  Areas of fog are possible overnight tonight through early Saturday morning due to the light winds, sufficient moisture, and mostly clear skies.

The below average temperature trend continues due to an upper level trough.  Low temperatures drop into the low to mid 60s through the beginning of next workweek.  High temperatures top out in the mid 80s this weekend under mostly sunny skies. It's outdoor kind of weather this weekend!  The UV index is coming in "very high" on Saturday, at a 9.  SPF 30+ is recommended.

We'll begin cranking the heat a bit starting Monday as an upper level ridge build in.  Low 90s return by the middle of next workweek.

Dry air throughout the atmosphere will keep rain chances to a bare minimum through the beginning of next workweek.  Storm chances rise by midweek as more moisture builds into the atmosphere.
