WAYNESVILLE, Mo. -- A high school was briefly locked down on Monday, when a student told police and school leaders that he might hurt himself.
WAYNESVILLE, Mo. -- A high school was briefly locked down on Monday, when a student told police and school leaders that he might hurt himself.

According to the Waynesville Daily Guide, the student had a gun in the Waynesville High School parking lot.

The school district's website states that an officer, the principal and others took appropriate action to secure the area and to keep the student and other students safe.

The lockdown was then lifted.
