UPDATE: Teen Charged After Shooting Man in Face

PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. -- A Dixon teen is charged after shooting another man in the face during an altercation Wednesday night.

PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. – A Dixon teen was charged Thursday for shooting another man in the face.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas Austin Bacon, 18, of Dixon, is facing charges of first-degree assault and armed criminal action for the Wednesday night incident.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Robert Stewart.

According to statements collected by the sheriff’s office, Bacon, Stewart and a third person were arguing over some property.

As the dispute escalated, Bacon and possibly another man pulled a weapon on Stewart, according to the sheriff’s office.

Stewart attempted to flee the scene riding a stolen ATV, but was shot in the face, causing serious injuries.

Stewart is currently at a Springfield hospital listed in critical condition.

Bacon is being held in the Pulaski County Jail with a bond of $1 million.

An investigation is ongoing, with future arrests possible.


PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. -- One man is seriously injured and two others are in custody after an overnight shooting in Pulaski County.

According to Pulaski County Sheriff Ron Long, the shooting happened around 11:00 p.m. on Crest Drive just west of Dixon, Mo.

The 20 year old victim was taken to a trauma center in Springfield.

Details of the shooting have not yet been released.
