UPDATE: Suspect Charged After Stabbing on Park Central Square

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – One man is in custody after stabbing another man in Park Central Square Wednesday night.
UPDATE: 

John L. Bishop, 45, of Springfield, has been charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action after a stabbing incident Wednesday night on Park Central Square in downtown Springfield.

Bishop is in the Greene County Jail under a $50,000 bond.




PREVIOUS: One man is in custody after a Wednesday night stabbing in downtown Springfield, according to Springfield Police Lt. Stacey Parton.
       
Parton says the victim underwent emergency surgery, and is in stable condition.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Police are searching for a man suspected of stabbing another man in Park Central Square Wednesday night.

According to police, one man stabbed another man more then once and then ran away. Police believe the men know each other.

The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Officers only have a vague description of the attacker.

No other information was immediately available. More details will be updated as they are released.
