Update: Person of Interest Arrested In Connection With Bomb Scare

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A person of interest has been detained in connection with a bomb scare Monday afternoon in the 4400 block of S. Reed Ave.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A person of interest has been detained in connection with a bomb scare Monday afternoon in the 4400 block of S. Reed Ave.

According to Springfield Fire Department spokesperson Cara Erwin, charges for the suspect have not been filed, but the suspect has been arrested.

Police arrived to the location on S. Reed Ave. around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon and the Springfield Fire Department Bomb Squad was called in for a potential explosive device.

The device was found by the occupants of the home at the location.

According to Erwin, the device was removed from the home and rendered safe outside.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

An investigation into the suspicious device is still ongoing.
