UPDATE: Fourth Man Charged in Home Invasion, Burglary Incidents

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After a three-month investigation of seven different incidents including home invasions and burglaries, police have arrested three people on numerous charges.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After a three-month investigation of seven different incidents including home invasions and burglaries, police have arrested three people on numerous charges.

According to a statement from Springfield Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Cox, four search warrants were served on the evening of Feb. 27. One was served in Ash Grove, Mo., with assistance from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT team, and the other three were served in Springfield.

After being interviewed by police, three men were booked into the Greene County Jail on the following formal charges:

  • Larry Wilson, 42, of Springfield: Two counts each of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, and armed criminal action. His bond is set at $50,000.

  • Joseph Smiley, 32, of Ash Grove: Five counts of first-degree robbery, five counts of first-degree burglary, one count of second-degree robbery, four counts of armed criminal action, and one count of second-degree burglary. His bond is set at $250,000.

  • Hershel Marsh, 45, of Springfield: One count of first-degree burglary and one count of second-degree burglary. His bond is set at $50,000.

  • Stephen Steele, 20, of Springfield: Four counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of misdemeanor stealing, and two counts of theft of a firearm. His bond is set at $50,000.
