Two Seriously Injured in Separate Boating Accidents

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. -- Two boating accidents over the weekend at Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks, leaves two people in serious condition.
LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. -- Two boating accidents over the weekend at Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks, leaves two people in serious condition.

The Missouri Highway Patrol's Water Division says the first happened about 2:10 am Saturday on the main channel of the lake, when a boat ran aground.

Troopers say the boat was going at a high speed when it hit land.  Erica Bagley, 26, of Alton, Illinois was riding in the boat.  She suffered serious injuries.  Also injured was another passenger, Reggie Allen, 31, of Dupo, Illinois.

The driver of the boat, Christina Hentry, 28, of Dupo, Illinois, was arrested for boating while intoxicated, reports Lake News Online.

The second crash happened just before 7pm Saturday on the Big Niangua arm of the lake.  Troopers say two jet skies ran into each other, seriously injuring Joshua Cowell, 19, of Overland Park, Kansas.

It happened when one of the jet skis turned into the other.
