(Springfield, MO) -- Toys R Us is giving last-minute holiday shoppers a break this year, thanks to round-the-clock shopping right up until Christmas.
Toys R Us stores are stay open for 112 hours straight. It all started at 6 a.m. Tuesday and will continue through 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
"I think it's great," says John Martin of Strafford. "I think it'll be less people probably in the evening -- in the middle of the night -- going out there. So I think less congestion. I hope anyway."
This is the second year in a row the retailer has remained open for 24-hour shopping in the days before Christmas.
"With shipments of the hottest toys arriving in stores up until Christmas, customers need to look no further to find holiday list-toppers," says a company rep. "Plus, with extended shipping deadlines and 'Buy Online, Pick Up In Store' available through Christmas Eve, last-minute holiday shoppers will have the opportunity to take advantage of the best deals and savings just in time for Christmas morning."
