A new warning on the dangers of high blood pressure. Teri Okita has the day’s top medical stories.
A new study finds hypertension is going untreated in the Hispanic community.  Researchers from the National Heart, Lung and Blood institute  found many uninsured Hispanics are not aware of the prevalence and dangers of hypertension. 
Researchers are warning some diabetes drugs come with heart risks and that those risks are overlooked during clinical trials. Previous studies have prompted the FDA to now require researchers to look at heart risks when testing new glucose lowering drugs.
And, it may not be necessary to stay overnight in the hospital when having joint replacement surgery.   Researchers in Philadelphia found the outcomes are pretty much the same for people who had an out-patient procedure and those who stayed overnight.
