SPRINGFIELD, Mo. --  Kristina S. Brown, PhD, of the Forest Institute is back on KOLR10 Daybreak with a 4-point to-do list to keep your love relationship healthy.

The Valentine's Day countdown is now two days away.  It's a day when we really think about relationships especially for couples.
And as Dr. Kristina Brown will tell you everyday you can work on your relationships.
She joins us now this morning to talk about her relationship to-do list.

What are the top five issues in relationships?
Money, communication, trust, infidelity and sex.

Her relationship to-do list includes:

  • Date Night  - be creative.  Have date lunches, or go to breakfast, go for walks.  Date night doesn't have to "look" a certain way.
  • Quality Time - run your errands and do chores together.  Hold hands in the grocery store. Grab a cup of coffee while your car is getting an oil change. Spend time together.
  • Love Notes - You get a lot of bang for your buck from love notes.  Text messages, dry-erase markers to leave messages on the mirror, sticky notes on the car windshield.
  • Improve Communication - This is one of the most common problem issues for couples. It starts with sharing, letting your partner know what is important to you. It ends up with listening.
Listen to your partner the same way you want them to listen to you.
