SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The annual tax sale of properties with delinquent taxes is a month away.   Property owners who haven't paid their taxes could lose their property to the highest bidder.

The Greene County Collector's office is trying to find property owners whose property is on this year's list for the sale on the courthouse steps

The Collector's staff says the list of owners whose properties are in danger of being sold can be found on the collector’s website at www.countycollector.com and clicking on tax sale.

Legal notices will also be posted in the newspaper.

The tax sale is held annually on the fourth Monday in August; this year’s sale falls on August 25th.  The tax sale takes place in every county in Missouri.  Contact your local county collector's office to learn more about the sale in your county.
