SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- The fairy godmothers of the Ladies Auxiliary, Elks Lodge 409, are opening their closet doors for a second time to give prom dresses away to those in need.

Winter weather put a damper on their last effort to give the prom dresses a new home so the group is opening its closet doors once more.

The Princess Project is an effort made by the Ladies Auxiliary, Elks Lodge 409, to give away hundreds of prom dresses to area girls who can’t afford the price of a gown.

The group will also be arranging to free hair and make-up appointments for the big night.

Girls can come to the Elks Lodge at 2223 E. Bennett St. in Springfield between 10 am and 2 pm Mar. 15 to pick out a gown and to set-up appointments.

Donations are appreciated by the Ladies Auxiliary and will be used to help community charities.
