R-12 Superintendent John Jungmann hold the first of 4 community meetings to get input about the direction of the Springfield public school system. 
Community members are invited to participate in four public meetings.  Here's the schedule:
Thursday, Aug. 28, 6 p.m., Cherokee Middle School cafeteria, 420 E. Farm Road 182
Tuesday, Sept. 9, 6 p.m., Kraft Administrative Center, 1359 E. St. Louis St.
Wednesday, Sept. 17, 3 p.m., Brentwood Library, 2214 Brentwood Blvd.
Friday, Sept. 19, 8:30 a.m., The Library Station, 2535 N. Kansas Expressway

MoDOT is hosting the meeting to go over its plans for making changes to Highway 60 in the Rogersville area, including adding lanes, building an overpass and building two interchanges.
The meeting will be held between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. on tonight, Thursday, August 28, at the Logan-Rogersville Upper Elementary School at 306 S. Mill Street (northeast corner of U.S. 60 and Route B) in Rogersville. It's a $35 million project.

In Pulaski County this evening, a public  meeting is being held with Steve Dunlap, the founder of On Time Ministries.  He will speak about human trafficking.  His organization helps supply recovery facilities for victims, including a facility near Pulaski County.  The meeting starts at 5:30 at The River Church , 25715 Highway 17 in Waynesville.

Missouri State Football kicks off tonight on the road.  Terry Allen's Bears are taking on Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
It'll be the fourth time these two teams have started the season against each other.

And the Kansas City Chiefs play a preseason game against the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay.  The game airs on KOZL starting at 6pm.
