This afternoon, the U.S. soceer team takes the field in the round of 16 at the World Cup. It is win or go home.

The U.S. team is confident a win against Belgium isn't too far out of reach.

"I think we have a good plan to get into the game," believes Jurgen Klinsmann, coach of the US team.
"We're not satisfied with getting to the round of 16 we want to do more," adds USA Team Captain Clint Dempsey.

It's the first time since 2002 that the Stars and Stripes are trying to advance to the World Cup quarterfinals.
"I want to wish the US team a lot of luck in the game to come," President Obama said.

U.S. forward Jozy Altidore will be available to play today - after straining his hamstring last month.
But, The Belgium team could come to battle without their injured captain.

Dempsey told reporters, "Belgium they have a lot of quality players but at the same time I think if we play to the best of our ability, we can get the best result."

Americans will be cheering on their team. In Chicago, thousands of soccer fans are expected to fill up Soldier Field.

"This is a big game with a lot of stakes. Everyone recognizes that so expect big crowd," says Mike Cressle, director of marketing for US Soccer.

Team USA has to win today or  they’ll get knocked out and have to head home.

The U.S. and Belgium haven't played in the World Cup since the first tournament in 1930. Back then, the Americans won 3-0.
