ROLLA, Mo. – A St. Louis man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at the Dollar General Store on March 18, according to the Rolla Police Department.

On March 21, the Rolla Police Department’s SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2000 block of Forum Dr. in Rolla.

According to a statement from police, the search warrant came as a result of several days of surveillance, stemming from a tip provided by a concerned citizen in connection to the robbery.

The search warrant lead to the arrest of a 46-year-old St. Louis man, who was also wanted by the United State’s Marshal’s office in connection with several recent bank robberies in the St. Louis Metro area.

“The suspect is in custody and no one was injured, this makes for a great day in my book,” says Chief Mark Kearse in the statement. “I am very proud of the professional way that our team handled this situation.”

The man is incarcerated in the Phelps County Jail pending formal charges of second-degree robbery in Rolla and extradition to St. Louis to face charges for the bank robberies.

As per KOLR10 policy, the suspect will remain unnamed until formal charges are presented by the prosecutor’s office.
