Springfield Starts Road Trip In San Antonio

Springfield and San Antonio were tied up at 4 in the 11th inning.
SAN ANTONIO, Tex--The Springfield Cardinals opened up a six game Texas League road trip Thursday night in San Antonio.

And the road can't be any worse than home for the Cardinals.

Springfield 1-5 on their season opening homestand.

The one victory came against these Missions and pitcher Josh Geer.

And the Missions won the Texas League last year and raised the championship flag.

San Antonio defense in the second, Austin Hedges the catcher with the snap throw to first and cuts down Jonathan Rodriguez.

Then Cody Stanley flares this to right, but Rymer Liriano is there for the catch to end the Springfield threat.

The Cardinals would break the ice in the fourth, Rodriguez makes up for getting caught at first with this shot down the right field line, a double that scores Aledmys Diaz and it's 1-nothing.

James Ramsey belted a three run homer, but it was a 4-4 game in the 11th.
