Clean Up Your Property with Spring Neighborhood Events

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The City of Springfield is working with neighborhood associations around the city, to encourage and help with spring cleanup.

Specific weeks are scheduled in various neighborhoods, to provide pickup brush, trash and metal.  Property owner are being encouraged to clean up their yards, alleys and fencerows and to get rid of trash, unused electronics and hazardous materials in their home.  The city will pick up trash, brush and metal in the areas and dates in this schedule. 

However, electronics and household chemicals and paints will not be accepted at any of the clean-up events. Electronics are accepted at the Computer Recycling Center at 1434 N. National from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, no appointment necessary.

And household chemicals and paints are accepted at the City's Household Chemical Collection Center at 1226 W. Nichols by appointment only. Call 864-2000 to make an appointment.
