SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A Springfield was sentenced on Monday to eight years in prison without parole for receiving and distributing child pornography over the Internet.

Lonnie Ray Orr, 29, of Springfield, pleaded guilty to receiving and distributing child pornography on Nov. 21, 2013.

According to United States Attorney Tammy Dickinson, police identified a computer that was using a peer-to-peer file-sharing network to share child porn over the Internet, which they were able to trace to Orr.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
