Springfield-Branson Airport Sees More Passengers

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- About 800,000 people fly out of the Springfield-Branson National Airport each year, and that's helping the terminal maintain growth.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- About 800,000 people fly out of the Springfield-Branson National Airport each year, and that's helping the terminal maintain growth.

Airport Director Brian Weiler spoke with chamber of commerce members Thursday.

Weiler said most airports are seeing about a one percent growth, but Springfield is already at 10 percent for the year.

"We're probably growing a little more because the business community in Springfield,” says Weiler. “We are seeing some economic growth and really the airline service is a reflection of the economic health of an area."

You'll also see construction at the airport starting June 1 when new hangars will be built to accommodate more corporate jets.
