A group of 29 members of the Springfield Police Department plans to “plunge” Feb. 15 into Table Rock Lake in Branson in support of The Special Olympics Missouri.

Participants will be walking, running or crawling into the frigid winter waters near thre Still Waters Resort at 2 pm.

They were required to raise at least $75 each before event day, and the fundraising goal for the event is $25,000.

Proceeds benefit Special Olympics Missouri’s year-round program of sports training and competition for children and adults with disabilities.

The Polar Plunge is a project of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Missouri.
