SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Springfield Police Department has now identified a man who was fatally shot after a reported home invasion Saturday morning.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Springfield Police Department has now identified a man who was fatally shot after a reported home invasion Saturday morning.

Police say Kenneth R. Fry, 40, was shot in the incident, he was transported to the hospital but later died from his injuries.  

Officers responded to a "burglary in progress" call in the 1100 block of North Missouri Avenue around 5:20 a.m. Saturday morning. 

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. Initial reports indicate that an occupant of the home shot the man after he broke into the residence.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- Springfield Police are investigating a homicide July 5 after alleged attempted robbery.

According to a press release from the Springfield Police Department, Officers responded to a call at approximately 5:20 am July 5 of a burglary in progress at 1120 N. Missouri Avenue.

When Officers arrived found a man who had been shot.

The man was transported to a hospital and later died from his injuries.

Initial reports indicate that an occupant of the home shot the man after he broke into the residence.

According to police, the name of the deceased man will be released once his identity is confirmed and next of kin is notified.
