"Shindig Shuffle" Kicks Off New Branson Season

BRANSON Mo. - Performers in Branson are hoping to land the next online dance craze, while pulling in tourists in the process.

BRANSON, Mo. -- Performers in Branson are hoping to land the next online dance craze, while pulling in tourists in the process.

The "Shindig Shuffle" is a dance aimed at promoting a brand new season in Branson called the Ozarks Mountain Shindig.

"The Ozarks Mountain Christmas, which has become a huge thing, every theater is packed, you can't get a hotel room," says Jason Hughes, "We're kind of shooting for the spring to be like that also."

The new season runs from the beginning of April through the end of May and will feature events, businesses and shows that are geared for a "lets party, get down and shindig" atmosphere.

In order to promote the events, more than 150 performers have been working on a new music video that features big names all along the Branson strip.

The plan it to launch the music video on Youtube sometime in May.

"Some of them got the choreography ahead of time," says Hughes, as he directed dance moves outside his own theater, "So some of them kind of know it a little bit, but there's a lot of them that have never seen it."

The "Shindig Shuffle" song was written by members of the Hughes family, along with performers from Voices of Glory.

"Kind of a little bit of hip hop flow, a little bit of country, a little bit of everything," says singer Michael Cole II.  "We're looking at trying to creating the largest line dance, and us being from New York, we want it to have a different flavor."

Cole II says the dance is so easy that the performers are inviting visitors and residents alike to performer the "shindig shuffle" on the strip, after the shows let out, May 31.
