SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield police have one person in custody in connection with a search warrant served on a northside home Thursday morning.

Police Capt. Vance Holland tells KOLR10 News the FBI is also on the scene in the 2200 block of N. Boonville near High Street.

Holland says a search warrant was served about 10:30 Thursday morning, but neighbors tell KOLR10 News there had been police activity off and on around the house since about 11:00 pm Wednesday.

Police say the search warrant was served for narcotics and weapons.

Neighbors say an elderly man lives in the house, but police did not provide any details on the person in custody.

Crews in full hazmat gear are going in and out of the garage of the home and a tent is set up in the front yard where investigators are working.

Law officers in fatigues and FBI agents are also at the scene.

More information on this developing story will be released as it becomes available.
