UPDATE: Search Underway for Possible Victim in Christian County Fire

BILLINGS, Mo. -- UPDATE: 7:10am -- Fire crews are working on a house fire east of Billings on Highway 60. One person was able to escape the fire, but one other is unaccounted for.
BILLINGS, Mo. -- UPDATE: 7:10am -- Fire crews are working on a house fire east of Billings on Highway 60.  Firefighters tell KOLR10 News the call came in about 5:00 am.  The house was fully engulfed in flames when they got there.  One person was able to escape the fire, but fire officials tell KOLR10 News one other is unaccounted for.  Search and rescue teams are searching the property from east to west, trying to locate that person.

In addition to the fire, crews are also battling sub-freezing temperatures this morning.  Ice is forming on their fire gear.  The condition of the house is also causing problems for firefighters, who say the floors are falling in, impeding firefighting and search efforts.

Both lanes of traffic blocked, although deputies have opened up one lane of traffic to help get a few cars through.

BILLINGS, Mo. -- A fire along Highway 60 just east of Billings, Missouri has traffic at a near standstill this morning. KOLR10's Brett Martin has a live report via Skype. Traffic is being allowed through on one lane, but traffic is badly backed up. Plan an alternate route.


BREAKING: Christian County Sheriff's dispatchers tell KOLR10 News Highway 60 between Billings and Republic is closed due to a house fire.

Authorities say it may be several hours before the highway is back open.  Plan an alternate route.
