SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man accused of plotting to kill his ex-wife will likely be retried after a hung jury.  David  Thomas was accused of conspiring with his girlfriend- Diane Greer- to have his ex-wife killed while Thomas was in prison.

Court documents show the hit man was actually an undercover police officer.  Detectives staged the murder and then confronted Greer with the evidence.

Greer pleaded guilty two weeks ago to conspiracy as part of a deal to testify against Thomas.

But a Greene county jury could not reach a verdict in his case.

Another hearing is scheduled March 24th to look at a possible second trial.
