AVA, Mo. – A recently issued storm report from the National Weather Service says an EF-1 tornado touched down around 5:10 p.m. Thursday, about four miles northwest of Ava.
The report says the tornado moved north, along a path paralleling Hwy. K, and left a path about 2.5 miles long and 100 yards wide.
Damage left from the tornado included snapped trees and downed power lines. A barn and highway sign were also reported to have damage.
The tornado lifted around 5:15 p.m. and maximum winds were estimated to be at 105 mph.
