Panthers Fall in the Regional Final

EVANSVILLE, In--Drury falls short against Southern Indiana.
EVANSVILLE, In--The Drury Panthers needed to accomplish two things Sunday in order to advance to the Division-II College World Series. First, top Grand Valley State, which they did by a score of 5-2. And second, was top Southern Indiana in the regional finals.

The panthers actually beat USI earlier in the regional 9-3.

But the Eagles grabbed an early lead as Matt Chavarria's base hit past short scores Kyle Kempf. Eagles up 2-0 in the 5th.

To the 7th. Panthers Cole Faulconer hits it to left center and Caleb Cole slides in safely to tie it at 2.

But Drury would head into the 9th down 4-2. And Nick Thimesch would pop out to end the game.

The Panthers fall 4-2 and end one of the best seasons in school history.
