Morning Sports Report - August 19, 2014

Good news for the Mizzou Tigers, MSU breaks in the new soccer fields, and Cards and Royals both win. Here's your morning sports report.
COLUMBIA, Mo--The Mizzou Tigers are practicing in Columbia.

Gary Pinkel's Tigers will kick off the 2014 season in a little less than two weeks against South Dakota State.

And Pinkel's Tigers will kick off the campaign ranked 24th in the nation.

Mizzou is one of eight SEC teams in the preseason Associated Press poll.

Last year the Tigers were 12-2 and finished the season ranked fifth in the last AP poll.

This is the first time since 2011 that the Tigers have been ranked in the preseason AP poll.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--In our Bear Nation report.

Womens college soccer, Drury visiting Missouri State at the new Allison Soccer Stadium.

The Bears with an early opportunity, Molly Brewer's shot is stopped by Drury's Taylor Pemberton.

Later Brewer with another chance, off the penalty kick, into the eight yard box, where Rachel Cantrell shoots and scores 1-nothing.

And Missouri State goes onto shut out the Panthers 3-nothing.

In the Major Leagues Monday  night,  It took 10 innings, but the St. Louis Cardinals top Cincinnati  6-5.

And the Kansas City Royals beat the Twins 6-4.
