Morning Sports Report - April 28, 2014

Some of the best high school basketball teams in the state show off their talents in the Missouri Challenge. Megen Rice wraps it up in your Monday morning sports report.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo--The top high school seniors were split into eight geographical teams for the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association's Missouri Challenge, to set up some great basketball at the O'Reilly Center.

In the girl's final it was Kansas City and Southeast.

In the 2nd half Erica Nelson with the extra pass to Imani Johnson. That made it 45-17 KC up.

Hillcrest's Kelbi Painter finds Darcy Latham and then to Courtney Raulston with the hoop. Southeast down 49-26.

Nelson comes back for Kansas City with the nice take. KC cruising 52-26.

And then inside to Becca Jonas with the turn around jumper.

Kansas City wins 75-43 over Southeast.

And Republic's Cody Geiger heading to Evangel accepting an award before Southwest and St. Louis play for the boys final.

In the first half Robin Thompson put back off the miss for St. Louis. Cuts the Southwest lead to 10. Thompson heading to Missouri State.

Later, Glendale's Cameron Maes strong take on the transition. 25-14 Southwest up.

Then, Williard's Chris Kendrix throws it down. To make it 29-20. Kendrix a future Bear as well.

And here's his future teammate at MSU Juan Johnson on the fast break.

St. Louis comes back to win in overtime though 90-85.
