SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- There has been so much interest in a concert featuring the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, that city officials have decided to set up a simulcast screen for the overflow crowd.

The City says tickets for the concert, part of the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival on Saturday, August 9, are sold out.  Video of the concert will be shows on a large screen set up in Park Central Square at 7pm that night.

In a news release, city spokesperson Cora Scott said; "We really wanted to take the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival to a whole new level," said Cora Scott, City of Springfield Director of Public Information & Civic Engagement. "We first partnered with the Gillioz and Dwight Glenn Productions to bring in high-quality entertainment for an evening concert. When they were able to book our first choice - the Daredevils - we pitched the idea of the outdoor concert broadcast in the event of a sellout to the band. They loved it."

The concert will also feature regional acts such as Powder Mill and Cindy Woolf and Mark Bilyeu. It starts at 7:30 p.m.

Some proceeds of various activities will benefit the City of Springfield's Birthplace of Route 66 Roadside Park Fund.
