LEBANON, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon will be in Lebanon at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday for the opening day of the 2014 trout season at Bennett Spring State Park.

In addition to Bennett Spring State Park, anglers can also fish for trout at Roaring River State Park, near Cassville, Montauk State Park, near Salem, and at Meramec Spring Park, located near St. James.

“Getting out and enjoying the outdoors is a tradition in our family, as it is for many Missourians, so opening day of trout season is something I look forward to every year,” Gov. Nixon said in a news statement. “There’s nothing quite like the experience of pulling a trout out of a crystal clear Ozark stream, so I look forward to joining the thousands of anglers who will participate in this great Missouri tradition.”
